Food!
Fat doesn't make you fat
From this article :
Says Dr. Walter Willett, chairman of the department of nutrition at the Harvard School of Public Health: "If Americans could eliminate sugary beverages, potatoes, white bread, pasta, white rice and sugary snacks, we would wipe out almost all the problems we have with weight and diabetes and other metabolic diseases."
Works for me!
The myths
But the truth is that food cholesterol levels have nothing to do with blood cholesterol levels and body fat is more a function of the sugar in food than the fat in food.
And foods were targeted as a result of this. "Avoid prawns and other shellfish because they're high in cholesterol" for example. Yes they are but they are very low in fat and incredibly good for you.
There are many people who have successfully lost weight etc from low fat diets but on closer inspection you will find that their low fat diet was also low in sugar.
Anyway I'm preaching to the converted.
